And Greek cuisine tastes good 😉
Itinerary( 3 days )
Your tour’s schedule in detail:
Arrive in Athens
Upon arrival in Athens, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Balance of the day is at leisure.
Athens – Foodie’s tour [duration approx. 3.5 hours]
In Athens, you will understand what the Mediterranean diet is all about. From classic mezedopolia serving delicious small plates to share, to traditional tavernas with live Greek music, gourmet experiences and ethnic restaurants, Athens is a feast for the senses.
Get ready to bite into a sweet, cream filled, crunchy filo layered pie called bougatsa, fork into perfectly fried doughnut balls drenched in honey called loukoumades and savor a satisfying meld of flavors from warm pita bread filled with seasoned grilled meat, fresh veggies and traditional sauce called gyros. In between, you will taste Feta cheese, Greek olives, and sip Greek wines. This neighborhood walk revolves around sampling Greece’s traditional food.
Your afternoon is free to enjoy this vibrant city on your own pace. Wander in Plaka, the oldest district in Athens. It is also mentioned as "Gods' district”, with outstanding scenery. Scout the Monastiraki flea Market for everything from kitsch souvenirs to antique prints, second hand-vinyl and vintage army surplus.
For dinner, visit Lycavittos hill or one of the numerous roof top restaurants to enjoy the magnificent night view to the Acropolis.
Arrangements terminate with breakfast at the hotel and check out.
